Crashing Ghost Blog on 1GB Basic Droplet

Hi guys,

My new Ghost Blog aruns.co is running on a 1GB Droplet and it crashed quite a lot of times when I was updating a post this evening.

Here is the error log, could anyone explain me what’s going on? Also, the RAM usage is constantly between 85-93% at the moment. Is it even normal?

Hi @aruns,

If your droplet is working between 85-93% it’s possible that some specific process crash the droplet. Try to find out if any process is consuming excessively, otherwise you should upgraded that droplet to another one with better features.

Hello,

What I would usually do in this case is:

  • Add a swap file just so that you have some extra buffer in case your RAM runs out:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-add-swap-space-on-ubuntu-18-04

  • Add some more RAM to your server

  • Follow the steps here on how to find the processes that are consuming the most server resources

Hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
