Connect, learn, build, and grow in your local DigitalOcean Community

Band together with other devs in your area to form a DigitalOcean Community Chapter in your region! These chapters are DigitalOcean-supported local groups of devs who meet up to build their peer networks, discuss best practices, to learn DO product ins and outs, and to stay informed about product launches and industry trends

DigitalOcean Chapter Leaders organize and run these regional communities

A DigitalOcean Chapter Leader is passionate about cloud and developer technology and about bringing local, like-minded devs together. DigitalOcean supports these leaders with event planning resources, leadership development opportunities, and connection to the broader DigitalOcean Community DO Wavemakers, all over the world.

Why you should lead a DigitalOcean Chapter

Every DigitalOcean Chapter needs a Leader—and everyone who’s passionate about the developer community and committed to bringing devs together for events can be an excellent leader. Beyond being fulfilling, the role of DigitalOcean Community Chapter Leader comes with perks!

What’s expected of you as a DigitalOcean Community Chapter Leader?

A DO Chapter Leader acts in some ways as an extension of DigitalOcean and is key to growing an engaged and active regional community. Some of your responsibilities as a Chapter Leader include:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for your chapter members.

  • Using the designated event platform for all activities and promotion.

  • Determining topics, recruiting speakers, and finding venues (if applicable) for your events.

  • Hosting at least four events per year (one per quarter), either virtually, in-person, or a mix of both. You can host more frequently if that’s what’s right for your group!

  • Staying in contact with DigitalOcean for feedback and insights.
