You can use a tool like
qemu-img
which is capable of converting between various disk image formats.The process will go like that. Extract the OVA file:
If you have an OVA file, extract it first to get the VMDK file inside.
This will give you one or more VMDK files.
Convert VMDK to Raw (.img) with MBR or GPT partition table:**
You can specify the partition table type (MBR or GPT) using tools like
parted

I don’t think that this is supported, as far as I can see in the docs, images you upload to DigitalOcean must meet the following requirements:
Operating system. Images must have a Unix-like OS.
File format. Images must be in one of the following file formats:
.img
) with an MBR or GPT partition tableThe best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
