Question

Github App permission requirements

Hi all,

I am new to DigitalOcean and trying to deploy my very first website using the Apps platform. When I tried to connect DO with my Github organization, I got confused by the requirements. Is there any documentation or clear explanation why DO needs read and write access for issues and pr-s on the repositories? Or the thing I am a little concerned about is the email read access on the individual-user account creating the connection.

I am not saying I don’t trust DO, but these permissions look unnecessary to me, and it would be good to see the exact reasons behind these requirements.

I just went through the process and after I authorized the application I got an email from Github saying I gave permission for DO to read my email addresses
