Question

How to configure a CNAME record to use Proton Mail for DKIM protection

I am using Proton Mail and I have my DNS records in Digital Ocean. There is this step that says I need to set up CNAME records but Digital Ocean does not support value for such records, what should I do?

Hey Mikhail! 👋

To set up CNAME records for Proton Mail DKIM protection in DigitalOcean, you should be able to configure these records without issues. Proton Mail typically provides the CNAME records, and you can add them in your DigitalOcean DNS settings by going to the Networking section, selecting your domain, and adding a new CNAME record.

Could you share more details about the issue you’re encountering? For example:

  • Are you seeing an error message when trying to add the CNAME record?
  • Is the issue related to the format or value of the record provided by Proton Mail?

Heya, @jailandrade

You can also check our article on how to configure DKIM record and the part on ## Add the public key to the domain’s DNS records

This should help you on adding the CNAME record.

Hope that this helps!
