I am quite new to programming. As I have read from different sources, login as root is generally considered bad practice in Linux. Currently, I connect to my droplet via SSH by: ssh -i mysshfile root@123.123.123.123 This would give me root access to my VM. May I ask, is there a better way to access my VM?

Hi @rynagerivia,
In most cases, people cut access to the root user directly. What they do is create a sudo user which they login with and then switch to root. That’s the optimal way I see it.
Having said that, using only Public Key authentication for root should be security enough to not worry about it.
