i have a odd thing hapening. i have a snapshot stored in 3 regions … its fully automated, deploys and sets itself up. so all i have to do is wait for the IP to update to use it, however, when i deploy the droplet via CLI/API … it won’t finish the deployment (probably because root has some post-deployment scripts to run) the only difference between me doing it manually and doing it via CLI is that the cli version does not get the ssh keys… this likely prevents the root-account to function as it requests a password first? (i’m just guessing here)
is there a way to attach a rsa key via cli ?

Hi there,
Yes, if you are creating a new Droplet via your CLI using the doctl CLI tool, you can pass the
--ssh-keys
with a list of the SSH key IDs or fingerprints to embed in the Droplet’s root account upon creation. For more informaiton on all of the available arguments you could check out the documentation here:
To get the IDs of your SSH keys already stored in your DigitalOcean account you could use the
doctl compute ssh-key list
command.Hope that this helps!

Heya,
Check the DigitalOcean API:
https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/doctl/reference/compute/droplet/create/#flags
You should be able to use the
--ssh-keys
flag to add the SSH key to your Droplet’s root account on creation.
