I would like to deploy a connectrpc based API on app platform. It must be accessible both via grpc (for iOS and Android), as well as via grpc-web (flutter web).
Is this currently possible? If not, are there any concrete plans for support in the near future?

Hey @ktxt,
UPDATE: Quick update here! App Platform now supports the HTTP/2 protocol. This allows you to use gRPC, multiplexing, and other HTTP/2 features.
I believe that the DigitalOcean App Platform primarily focuses on HTTP/HTTPS-based applications and does not natively support gRPC or gRPC-Web out of the box.
This is largely due to the underlying infrastructure and the way the App Platform is designed to automatically handle HTTP traffic, including SSL termination, routing, and scaling, which does not directly translate to gRPC’s use of HTTP/2 in its standard form without additional configuration or support.
The best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
In the meantime, what you could do instead is to use a Droplet where you will have root access and you will not have those restrictions.
Hope that helps!
