Question

Disabling proxy while connecting digitalocean app platform to cloudflare

I have an app which has a static landing page hosted on cloudflare and domain name from cloudflare and i have the app on digitalocean app platform, and i wanted to connect the two so that i have the app in app.example.com and the landing page on example.com, so i have found this community response : www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/how-to-connect-digitalocean-app-platform-with-cloudflare and it mentioned that i should disable cloudflare proxy. Is disabling it a necessary step because i want to still have the benefits of cloudflare protection (ddos, bots, …) and if yes is there any other ways i can connect cloudflare with digitalocean app platform while keeping cloudflare cdn and proxy. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The DigitalOcean App Platform utilizes Cloudflare under the hood, this is why it’s mentioned that you should disable the Cloudflare proxy to avoid any odd behaviour.

Though this should still work with proxy enabled. Are you seeing any specific issues when you have it enabled?
