How do I install pgvector on my local / non-managed PostgreSQL database? I get the following message “Unable to locate package postgresql-14-pgvector” when I try to “install postgresql-14-pgvector” … and I cannot CREATE EXTENSION vector from psql…

If you’re getting that error, it’s likely the
pgvectorpackage isn’t available for your OS or PostgreSQL version via the package manager.You can always build it from source:

psql:What OS are you running?

You’ll need to built it from source I think
If everything compiles without errors, this installs
pgvectorto your PostgreSQL extensions directory.Now connect to your database using
psqland runthat will enable thje extension for you.
