Question

MySQL Remote Connection Error

I have added my public IP as a trusted source on the Restrict inbound connections section. I used to be able to connect to the MySQL database from my local client, but now I received this error (not sure why the image does not load): Driver Error Lost communication to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 0

Have anyone faced the same issue? Any help to troubleshoot is appreciated

Hi there,

It sounds like that you might have a dynamic IP address. Can you try visiting:

https://ifconfig.io/

And verify that your IP address has not changed? If it has changed, try adding the new IP to the trusted sources and try to connect again.

Also, make sure that you are using the correct port, as the DigitalOcean Managed MySQL databases do not use the default one.

Let me know how it goes!

Best,

Bobby

Heya @hannyudayanalobster,

The image you’ve provided is not visible. As for the error, try to re-add your IP address to the trusted source.
