Heya, @fds
Spaces have the following request rate limits:
750 requests (any operation) per IP address per second to all Spaces on an account.
240 total operations per second to any individual Space.
150 combined PUT, POST, COPY, DELETE, and LIST operations per second to any individual Space. We may further limit LIST operations if necessary under periods of high load.
5 PUT or COPY requests per 5 minutes to any individual object in a Space.
Can you verify if you are hitting any of those limits by any chance?
For more information on the limits, you could check out the documentation here:

Hey!
To be able to provider you with any suggestions with the random 403 errors you’re encountering, could you provide more specific details about the circumstances under which these errors occur and your exact setup that you haev?
Information like the specific actions you’re taking when the error appears, the type of resource you’re accessing, and any recent changes you’ve made could be very helpful. Also the services that you are using like Droplets, App Platform and etc.
Additionally, it’s a good idea to check the DigitalOcean status page to see if there are any ongoing issues that might be related to the problem you’re experiencing.
Best,
Bobby

When you get such intermittent issues, it’s always best to see the status page of Digitalocean and make sure the product you are using doesn’t have an outgage or if something else comes up:
