Question

Re-creating Destroyed Apps

I destroyed one of my deployed apps on the panel and now I would like to re-create it by running

doctl apps create --spec spec.yaml

Just like I did in the first time. I keep getting error messages like:

Error: POST [https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/apps](https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/apps):
400 (request "7aaf265f-87a9-4db0-b571-7b4f99a40114")

where the request ID varies. Can conform that doctl auth init works and DigitalOcean has the read and access to my relevant GitHub Repository.

Could someone please help?

Thanks!

Hi there,

The 400 bad request response indicates that there might be something wrong with the app spec file itself.

I could suggest adding the --trace flag to your doctl command to see some extra output that might indicate what the problem is.

Also, if you wish, feel free to share your app spec file here so I could take a quick look and try and see if I can spot any specific issues.

UPDATE: As discussed here, the issue was the Postgres dev database version that was causing the problem, this was fixed after changing the dev database definition to:

databases:
  # PG = Postgres
  - engine: PG
    name: newsletter
    num_nodes: 1
    size: db-s-dev-database
    version: "12"

Best,

Bobby
